Word Count: 2k
Request: Yes
Neither of you liked to make a big fuss about Valentine's Day, you were just happy to be with each other. After all, you loved each other the same today as you did any day, the holiday was just a nice excuse to spend time together. Not that you needed one, you loved being together.
You decided to plan out a cute little date night, staying in of course. With Clint's Avenger duties he was usually pretty tired and he just wanted to come home to you and stay in most of the time, but you loved it. You got all the ingredients to make Clint's favourite food for dinner and your favourite for dessert, you lined up a bunch of cheesy romance movies. If you ever told anyone he would deny it with every fibre of his being but Clint Barton loved rom-coms.
You lit some candles and remembered to keep them away from the curtains, unlike Clint. It was a lovely gesture but you weren't very swept up in the romance of it all when you had to get the fire extinguisher.
You were just starting to cook dinner when you got a text.
On my way â¤ď¸
You smiled ten times brighter and actually danced around the kitchen a little. You continued to cook and hum away merrily. You noticed that Clint had sent that text an hour ago and he should be home by now. Just as you picked up your phone to check that he was okay, his name came across the screen.
"Hey, are you okay? You sent that text a while ago"
"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm really sorry baby, but Tony needs me"
"What's going on?"
"Some space asshole wants to take over the planet again"
"I thought Thor and Loki took care of the space stuff"
"They do, but they're MIA. They left for Asgard a week ago and they still haven't come back. Cap and Nat are here but they said they need me too"
"What about Bruce?"
"He was going to go with the Brodinsons, some kind of alien science thing. Don't know if he did"
"You know they hate that name"
"Why else would I call them that?"
"Just stay safe, okay? Leave the robot strangling to Steve"
He chuckled lightly, making a crackling sound over the phone "Yes Ma'am" He paused for a moment and breathed in deeply "I promise, I'll be home soon"
"You'd better be. I don't think you want to miss out on everything I have planned. I even got a new outfit"
"I thought you wanted to stay in?"
"I do"
"Oh" He paused, realising what you meant "OH, I'll get this finished up quick then"
"I love you"
"I-"
He was cut off by a loud crashing noise followed by an explosion. You heard a lot of screaming and cries for help echoing through the phone.
"Clint? Clint?! Are you okay? Please, answer me"
He didn't. The phone went dead and you were left standing in the kitchen, not knowing anything yet again.
You turned the stove off and walked over to the couch. You hated when this happened. You hated being in the dark, you hated not knowing if the man you love is even breathing, it made you sick. You knew you shouldn't freak out, you didn't know anything so he could be okay, right?
You just sat there, for hours. It's happened before but this felt different. You could barely move. You just managed to lay down and curl up into a little ball. Clint's sweater was hanging on the back of the couch, he never put it away, some days you thought he was actively trying to drive you crazy, today you just held it. You grabbed it and clutched it to your chest, breathing him in, praying it wouldn't be the last time.
The hours passed by, going late into the night and you stayed there, waiting. You heard a quiet thump coming from outside and when you approached the door you heard heavy breathing and the jingling of keys. It's Clint. It has to be. You flung the door open and he fell forward. You caught him just in time. He looked up at you and extended a bouquet of slightly damaged red roses.
"Happy Valentine's Day"
You huffed out a small laugh and helped him up. He was covered in blood, you hoped it wasn't all his, you were certain that whatever was blue wasn't. He had a huge bruise over his eye and a cut through his eyebrow. He had lots of smaller cuts and scrapes across his body but the worst one was on his arm. He held his arm close to his chest but you managed to pull it away and see the big gash. You sat him down on the couch and rested his arm on it. You saw the big cut that ran down his leg and propped it up on an ottoman.
"God" You muttered to yourself as you got the first aid kit.
"Y-you should see the other guy" He coughed out, wincing at the small movements and holding his side.
"Why aren't you at the hospital?"
"It's Valentine's Day"
"That's not an answer and you know it"
"What? Don't you like the flowers? They nearly cost me an arm and a leg"
You shook your head and smiled "I love them, but that's not the point"
"Well I'm in one piece, that counts for something, doesn't it?"
"Something, but being in one piece shouldn't be your only goal"
You knelt down, pulled out an alcohol wipe and started cleaning up his arm.
"I-Ow! Can you give me a warning next time?"
"Sorry"
He leaned his head back, took a deep breath and clenched his fist.
"I hope I didn't keep you up?"
"Nah, I'm often awake at 4 in the morning"
He looked down at you, his eyes clouded over with sadness and guilt as he watched you help him when he had abandoned you.
"I-"
"Don't"
"What?"
"Don't apologise for saving the world. Apologise for not taking care of yourself while you did it"
"I'm sorry. I really am. I should've been here, with you"
You finished cleaning up his wounds and got up to leave. His fingers wrapped around your wrist, you could feel the dirt and blood still on them.
"Where are you going?"
"Just the kitchen"
"Okay"
He let go of you and wished he didn't. You were gone for 10 minutes. 10 excruciating minutes. He didn't know if you were coming back, you'd be right not to with that way he's always leaving you. When he finally saw you walk back in you held a plate in your hands. You presented it to him and he took it gratefully. It was his favourite meal. Of course it was, of course you were here waiting for him after you had spent the time and effort to make his favourite meal for the day you were meant to spend together. You sat next to him and rested a hand on his thigh, rubbing up and down gently, reassuring him that it was okay.
"I don't deserve you"
"Nope, but you're stuck with me now"
"Am I?"
"What?"
"Stuck with you?"
"O-of course you are, don't you want to be?"
"I love you more than I can form the words, I just, I'm a terrible partner"
"No, Clint, you aren't. You're absolutely wonderful 90% of the time, you're just focused on the 10 right now, but you don't need to be"
"It's more than 10"
"Fine, 11"
He chuckled lightly "I'll take that"
"And I'll take you"
You leaned up and shifted closer You pressed your lips to his with the delicate touch of a feather.
"Is that all? What about your new outfit?"
"Well I didn't want to hurt you, you know, more"
"You won't" He said with a suggestive smile.
You moved over to him and kissed him again. This time deeper, like you were trying to hold onto each other for as long as you could. He moaned lightly just before you pulled away.
"Okay, I was wrong. That hurt"
You giggled softly as you took your seat on the couch "Sorry, baby"
"I'm sorry I ruined our Valentine's Day"
"You didn't, the only way can ever ruin my day is if you aren't in it"
"God, you're so sweet. It's making me sick"
You gently tap his arm as opposed to swatting it.
"Alright, I planned a fun night for us and we're gonna do it"
"Honey, when you kissed me it hurt, I don't think we can-"
"Not that, we're going to watch some rom-coms, I found a few I think you'll like"
"Sounds like a plan"
You took the remote and played one of your picks for the night; Just Like Heaven. You loved Reese Witherspoon and the other actor looked strangely familiar. About 2 minutes after he came on screen Clint just turned and looked at you, mouth agape in shock. He couldn't believe it. Clint dialled Bruce's number with shaky hands as he couldn't stop laughing.
"Hello?"
"Where the hell were you?"
"I just got back from Asgard, is everything okay?"
"Can't complain, got my girl, got half my blood"
"What happened?!"
"Some alien attacked, we really could have used a code green or some godly magic from you buddies"
"I'm sorry Clint, we were in an asteroid belt, no reception"
"Nice cover story, anyways that's not why I called"
"Why did you call?"
"Ever heard of Mark Ruffalo?"
"Shit"
"Yes, shit. How come you never told us?"
"I was there when we all watched Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. I wasn't going through that"
"Fair enough, Tony's still calling me Jeremy"
"So, which movie is it?"
"Just Like Heaven, the one with Reese Witherspoon" You pipped up when Clint turned to you.
"Well have fun and don't ever mention it to anyone!" Bruce said in a faux cheery tone before hanging up.
Clint put his phone down and turned his attention back to the screen. You finished the movie and laughed all the way through.
"Clint"
"Yeah?"
"You know Scarlett Johansson?"
"I don't think so"
"Heard of Chris Evans?"
"Nope"
"That's, that's just so great"
You played The Nanny Diaries.
"W-what the fuck?" He drew out the last word "How could you not tell me about this sooner?"
"I just found out last week"
"I have to call Nat"
"Just, give it a minute"
"Why?"
"Trust me"
The movie continued and Harvard Hottie came on screen.
"No fuckin' way!"
"Glad you waited?"
"Oh, so glad"
"Wait until the costume party"
"There's a costume party?!"
"Yep"
"I have to see that"
You both howled through the scene, you thought Clint might break another rib at one point. You saw his eyes starting to close as the movie ended.
"Wanna o to bed?"
"I'd love to, but I don't think I can get up"
"That's okay, we can sleep here. That's why I bought a big couch"
"You should go to bed, get a decent sleep"
"It's fine, the couch is pretty comfy. Besides, I can't sleep without you anyways"
He looked at you with so much love in his eyes and he brought your hand up to his lips as he pressed a kiss to your knuckles.
"You're incredible"
"Nah, amazing maybe but incredible's a big statement"
"But it's true, you did all of this for me"
"I picked a couple movies and made dinner, Clint, it's not that special"
"It is because it's with you, you make everything special"
"Who's sickeningly sweet now?"
"Still think it's you"
You cuddled up on the couch with Clint and soon drifted off into a peaceful sleep, you always slept well when you were in his arms and he slept well whenever he was holding you.

He's Cute
pairing: bucky barnes x male reader tags: you're Loki's brother, but actually nice and come in peace, bucky finds you adorable, humor, asking out a prince from another planet is hard, just ask bucky, part 2 can be done
Tony tapped his fingers on the conference table, wearing his best âwell, here we go againâ scowl. In front of him, the Avengers were assembled, all shooting wary glances at Thor. âSo,â Tony drawled, making sure to emphasize his skepticism, âweâre hosting another Asgardian prince. Is your father just collecting them at this point?â
Thor, doing his best not to look offended, cleared his throat. âI know you hold distrust after what Loki did, but (Y/N) is our younger brother. Heâs quite the opposite from Loki.â
Clint quirked a brow, exchanging a glance with Sam. ââOppositeâ how? Less shape-shifting and more interpretive dance, orâŚ?â
Sam snorted. âIâd pay to see that, actually.â
Thor, for his part, stood straight-backed, looking earnestâand maybe just a little bit offended. âI assure you, (Y/N) is not here to conquer anything,â he reiterated. âMy brother is gentle. He's nothing like our brother Loki."
Tony drummed his fingers on the table one more time. âYeah, weâll see. Might I suggest we have a âNo Asgardian Shenanigansâ sign at the front door? We can hang it right under the âNo Solicitorsâ sign.â
âThat might be a tad welcoming, donât you think?â Clint drawled, lips curling in a wry grin.
Sam chuckled. âNo illusions allowed, no staff-wielding illusions, no illusions about illusions.â
Bucky glanced around. They were all bantering, but he could sense the undercurrent of nervous energy. Finally, Steve caught his eye and nodded, inviting him to speak up if he wanted. But Bucky just gave a small shrugâhe didnât really have an opinion yet, beyond thinking that maybe it would be nice to have another level-headed god around. Heâd heard Loki was a piece of work, but Thorâdespite his bombastâhad proven a decent ally.
âWell, guess weâll know soon enough,â Nat said, pulling everyoneâs attention back to her. She tapped her phone, checking the time. âThor? Whenâs your supposed to show up?â
Thorâs chest swelled with pride, as though merely announcing your name was akin to proclaiming victory over the Nine Realms. âHe will arrive todayâshortly, in fact. Heimdall has secured him safe passage. I ask for your patience, my friends. He is notâŚaccustomed to Earth.â
âOh, this ought to be fun,â Tony said, pushing back from the table. âAlright. Everyone, letâs roll out the welcome mat. And by âwelcome mat,â I obviously mean âa healthy dose of skepticism laced with potential backup plans A through Z.â Clint, letâs find a vantage pointââ
âTony,â Steve interrupted, sounding exasperated. âHeâs Thorâs brother, not a Hydra spy.â
Tony shrugged. âBetter safe than sorry. Or have we collectively forgotten the Chitauri fiasco?â
Thor let out a deep, put-upon sigh, and Bucky caught the flicker of guilt in the godâs eyes. Clearly, Thor was sensitive about all that had happened with Loki. Which in turn made Bucky feel a little guilty for automatically being wary.
About an hour later, the Avengers had dispersed, though most lingered in the main atrium of the Compound. Bucky hung back near a wall, arms folded, scanning his surroundings with a soldierâs vigilance. He had no idea what to expect. A second Loki? Another six-foot-something, muscle-bound, hammer-wielding Asgardian?
The air crackled with energy, and suddenly, a swirl of rainbow light appeared at the center of the roomâa mini Bifrost. Out of it stepped you.
Your entrance was about as dramatic as one could expect from a swirling cosmic rainbow, but you looked anything but menacing. Clad in simple Asgardian attire (far less extravagant than Thorâs usual gear), you blinked, adjusting to the Earthly surroundings and then you bowedâactually bowedâdeeply and respectfully.
âGood day,â you greeted softly, your voice gentler than any of them expected. âI am (Y/N) of Asgard. It's an honor to meet the team that has accepted my brother Thor with open arms. I know you might be wary of me with all that has transpired with Loki, but know that I deeply apologize for any problems he...â You paused, searching for a polite way to phrase it, eventually settling with, ââŚmight have caused.â
Tony raised an eyebrow. ââMight have caused?â Yeah, thatâs one way to put an alien invasion.â He exchanged a look with Clint, who shrugged.
â(Y/N) is different,â Thor explained, laying a large hand on your shoulder with a brotherly sort of pride. âHe will not attempt subterfuge or illusions.â
Bucky, observing quietly from his corner, noticed how you half-cringed at the mention of illusions, as if even the word brought you guilt by association. You glanced around at the assembled heroes: Tony with his pointed skepticism, Natâs arms folded in careful assessment, Steveâs polite-but-guarded kindness. Even Sam gave you a sidelong look that said he wasnât entirely sure he believed in second Asgardian princes yet. Only Thor, unwavering in his faith, and Bruce, gently curious, seemed at ease.
Clearing your throat, you continued, âI truly want to learn of your customs and help in any way I can.â Your voice quieted further. âI understand if my presence here makes you uncomfortable. You have already faced so much.â
Natasha eyed you, the corners of her mouth lifting in the faintest of smiles. âWell, youâre certainly more polite than your brothers,â she said, glancing at Thor pointedly.
âThatâs not difficult,â Clint muttered, earning a huff from Thor.
Bucky only half-listened to the exchange; he was more focused on the shy curve of your postureâhow you carried yourself with a subtle humility that was so unlike Thorâs boisterous confidence or Lokiâs cunning. He realized then he was staring, so he forced himself to look away, crossing his arms over his chest to maintain some semblance of aloofness.
Steve, ever the one to break awkward silences, stepped forward to shake your hand. âWe appreciate your honesty, (Y/N). Iâm Steve Rogers. I promise no one here means you harm,â he said in a reassuring tone.
You took his hand carefully, as if unaccustomed to the formality. âNice to meet you, Captain Rogers.â A flicker of surprise crossed your face as you felt the firmness of his handshake. âYour grip could rival Thorâs,â you murmured, almost impressed. Thor puffed up, beaming that youâd complimented one of his comrades.
Sam spoke up next, his voice colored with curiosity. âSo, no illusions, no plans of world dominationâŚIâm guessing youâre the ânormalâ one in the family?â
You seemed flustered, but your lips quirked in an embarrassed smile. âIâI wouldnât quite say that. But I have always strived for peace.â
Tony waved a hand. âAlright, Peace Prince, welcome aboard. Weâll see how it goes. Just donât conjure up any giant space whales or open any more cosmic portals in the middle of Manhattan, deal?â
Thor looked positively mortified that Tony would even imply such a thing, but you only nodded politely. âYes, sir. No space whales. I can assure you of that.â
At the âsir,â Tonyâs eyebrows shot up. âOh, I like you. Please continue to address me as âsirâ in front of the others.â
Nat rolled her eyes. âYouâre incorrigible.â
Thor cleared his throat, trying to steer the conversation back to calmer waters. â(Y/N) will be staying with us for a timeâlearning Earthâs ways. Please, treat him as you would me.â
âSo we haze him with endless pop culture references and toss him in the deep end?â Sam joked.
Bucky saw you swallow hard, and something about your shy, uncertain expression tugged at his chest. Without meaning to, he spoke up for the first time in the meeting. âIâll help,â he said bluntly.
Everyone turned to look at him, surprise etched on their facesâespecially Steve, who arched an eyebrow as if to say, Didnât know you were volunteering, pal. You brightened, relief shining in your eyes. âThat is very kind of you. Thank you, Sergeant Barnes.â
âJustâŚBucky,â he mumbled, cheeks warming the tiniest bit.
Natashaâs keen eyes flickered between the two of you, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. âGreat,â she said lightly. âNow that weâre all introduced, who wants lunch?â
Over the next few days, you integrated yourself into Avengers life with unexpected ease. You asked Tony endless questions about Earth technology, took great care to help Bruce reorganize his lab (after you discovered you had a knack for meticulously alphabetizing everything from chemicals to coffee mugs), and politely sparred with Natasha, who grudgingly admitted you were surprisingly tough yet considerate.
Meanwhile, Bucky quietly observed you. He watched you cheerfully fix up the lounge furniture after Thor accidentally broke a coffee table. He saw you carefully water the potted plants in the hallway, eager to ensure none of Earthâs âfragile vegetationâ withered on your watch. Little by little, Bucky found himself drawn to your presenceâdrawn to your soft laughter, your bright curiosity.
But one thing stood out above all else: you never once bragged about your title. You never boasted about your Asgardian heritage or demanded special treatment. You even seemed embarrassed whenever anyone called you âPrince (Y/N).â Instead, you were humbleâsometimes painfully so. And that humility, combined with that sweet, open-minded wonder, made Buckyâs heart do somersaults he hadnât felt in years.
Bucky sat in the compoundâs lounge one afternoon, pretending to read a newspaper while sneaking glances your way. You were studying a half-eaten bag of potato chips like they were the eighth wonder of the world.
âSteve,â Bucky murmured, beckoning his friend closer.
Steve, doing his best to hide an amused smile, leaned in. âWhatâs up?â
Bucky tilted the newspaper so Steve could see you turning the potato-chip bag upside down, letting crumbs tumble out onto your hand. âHeâs cute,â Bucky muttered under his breath, so quietly it nearly dissolved into air.
ââŚShould I act surprised? It was obvious from the moment you volunteered to show him around the tower,â Steve finished, his voice just as low. He flicked his gaze from Bucky to you and back again, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Bucky rolled his eyes but couldnât quite hide the hint of pink that dusted his cheeks. âIâm trying to be subtle, all right?â
Steve snorted. âThatâs rich coming from the guy whoâs sneaking glances every ten seconds.â
Buckyâs gaze drifted again to youânow tapping the bottom of the potato chip bag in an effort to extract the last crumb. The entire display was so earnestly adorable that Bucky had to bite back a smile. âLook,â Bucky sighed, voice dropping lower, âheâs Thorâs brother. A prince. And Iâmâwellââ He gestured vaguely at himself, as if that summed up a lifetimeâs worth of complications. âYou really think heâd be interested?â
âYes,â he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. âI do.â
Bucky opened his mouth to protestâheâs just curious about Earth, heâs friendly to everyone, it doesnât mean anythingâbut then, as if on cue, you turned around in your seat. The instant your eyes met Buckyâs, your face lit with delight. You waved at him so earnestly that you almost spilled the bag of chips.
Bucky swallowed. âFine,â he muttered, giving Steve a pointed look. âMaybe thereâs a small chance.â
Steve suppressed a laugh, nudging Bucky forward. âThen go talk to him. Ask about chips, or Earth cuisine, or literally anything. Just say something.â
Bucky tried to summon that stoic confidence that sometimes worked for him. Instead, he felt like a high school kid with a crush. âRight,â he mumbled. âBe casual. Real casual.â
He stood up, discreetly adjusting his jacket, and made his way over to you. You greeted him with a bright smileâstill holding that bag of chips as if youâd discovered gold. âHello, Bucky!â you said. âI didnât realize such simple food could taste so addictive.â
Bucky felt his heart do a little flip at the sound of his name on your lips. âYeah, uhâŚchips,â he replied brilliantly, jamming his hand in his pocket in a desperate attempt to appear nonchalant. âTheyâre a big deal around here. Weâve got, uhâŚlike, 70 flavors, I think.â
Your eyes widened. âSeventy?!â
âMaybe more,â Bucky corrected himself. He cleared his throat. âSo, you like them?â
âVery much. I fear I might become dependent,â you admitted, glancing a little sheepishly at the half-empty bag. âBut enough about meâhowâs your day? I noticed youâve been reading that newspaper for a while.â
Bucky cringed internally. Busted. âOh, yeahâlots ofâŚuhâŚinteresting articles,â he fibbed, holding up the folded paper. He glanced at the front page, realized it was yesterdayâs news, and hastily lowered it again. âAnyway, I was thinking, maybe we couldâŚyou know, get out for a while? Go, uhâŚcheck out a cafĂŠ nearby.â
Your brow furrowed, confusion creeping across your features. âBut the Compound has a coffee machine. Itâs in the kitchen, right? I can fetch you coffee, if you like.â
âNo, no,â Bucky corrected, trying to keep his composure. âI mean, we could go out. Just you and me. Kind of anâŚouting.â He struggled with the word date, but it hovered there, unsaid.
Your eyes went wide, as though another revelation had dawned upon you. âOh! You need supplies? Are we on a mission?â
âNo, not a mission,â Bucky explained, scratching the back of his neck. âJust hanging out. Relaxing. Maybe having a nice conversationâaway from everyone else.â
You nodded, albeit slowly. âA private conversationâŚin a place that also serves coffee?â
âRight,â Bucky confirmed, trying not to seem too relieved. âItâsâŚwell, on Earth, we call that a âdate.ââ
He finally said itâdate. His palms were sweaty, but he held your gaze, waiting.
âOh!â you exclaimed, brows shooting up. âIâve read about dates in one of the Midgardian relationship guidebooks. Something about courting rituals and paying for each otherâs drinks to demonstrate affection?â
Buckyâs cheeks felt warmer by the second. âYeah, thatâsâŚthatâs the general idea. You interested?â
âYes!â you said, then paused, a flicker of doubt crossing your features. âBut do we need to bring my father into this? Thor mentioned father-gifts or is that just for official betrothals? I donât want to be rude.â
Off to the side, half-hidden in the hallway, Steve pinched the bridge of his nose to stifle a laugh. Bucky shot him a quick glareâthanks for the backup, pal. Chuckling nervously, Bucky shook his head. âNo father-gifts required. On Earth, itâs usually just between, wellâŚthe two people going on the date.â
Your shoulders visibly relaxed. âAh, excellent. That simplifies things. I wouldnât know what to buy your father anywayâdoes he prefer golden chalices orâ?â
âNo, no,â Bucky interjected quickly, biting his lip to keep from outright laughing. âSeriously, no father involvement. We just go, maybe sit down, order coffee, talk.â
You seemed to take a moment to let that sink in. Then, you grinned wide. âThat sounds delightful. When do we depart for this coffee date?â
âHow about tomorrow morning? Around ten?â Bucky offered.
You placed a hand over your heart, nodding firmly. âTen in the morning. I will be ready. Should I wear armor, or is that too formal?â
Bucky glanced at Steve again, who was now silently cracking up. He smothered a grin, turning back to you. âCasual clothes are fine. Maybe justâŚI dunnoâŚa shirt and jeans, if you have them?â
âAh, yes! The mortal garb. Iâll do my best not to clash patterns.â You tapped your chin thoughtfully. âThough everything on Earth seems to clash with my Asgardian boots.â
Bucky let out a soft laugh, feeling tension he didnât realize heâd been holding in slip away. âYouâll be fine, trust me.â
Moments later, you excused yourself to research casual Earth attire, leaving Bucky standing in the lounge with a strangely giddy feeling in his chest. Thatâs when Steve sauntered in, arms folded, his smile practically ear-to-ear. âYou see?â Steve teased. âThat wasnât so hard, now was it?â
Bucky rolled his eyes, though he couldnât quite hide his grin. âI almost had to explain father-gifts, so maybe a little complicated.â
Steve chuckled. âLooked like you handled it just fine. And if you need a quick escape route tomorrow, you know Iâve got your back.â
Bucky gave him a playful shove. âThanks, punk.â
Steve shrugged, still grinning. âAnytime, jerk.â

Which, the Avengers embark on a mission to dismantle a sinister facilityâa male version of the Red Room, designed to turn young men into weapons. Natasha Romanoff leads the charge, determined to save her younger brotherâ Y/n, who has been trapped in this program for years.
Word count: 2191
Warnings: PTSD. Red Room.
A/n: This was requested by an anon. I hope you like it!
The facility was crumbling around them, fire and dust mixing into the heavy air. The sounds of gunfire and explosions echoed in the background, but Natasha Romanoffâs focus was singular. Her feet moved with purpose as she scanned the darkened hallway. She knew what to look forâthe same signs she once wore on her face and carried in her posture.
In this mission, the Avengers were not after weapons or secrets. They were after peopleâboys who had been subjected to something eerily familiar to Natasha. A male counterpart to the Red Room, hidden deep in the underbelly of the world. They had lived in the shadows for years, unnoticed, until an intercepted transmission tipped the Avengers off to the existence of this twisted program.
She pushed through the shattered remnants of a metal door and stepped into a cold, dimly lit cell block. A dozen pairs of frightened eyes met hers, boys barely in their teens and men no older than twenty-five.
Natasha scanned each face until she found the one she had been looking for: Y/n.
He sat huddled in the far corner of the cell, knees drawn to his chest, body folded in on itself as if trying to disappear into the cracked concrete wall behind him. His clothes hung loosely from his thin frame, and his hands trembled as they gripped his knees.
âHey,â Natasha whispered, kneeling in front of him.
At first, Y/n didnât respond. The years of training had taught him to suppress everythingâfear, trust, and hope. But when he finally lifted his gaze, recognition flickered in his eyes. Y/n knew her, though not personally. She had been the ghost story among the instructors. The Black Widowâtraitor to the cause, the one who escaped.
âIâve got you,â Natasha said gently, her gloved hand hovering over Y/n's but not touching, waiting for him to make the first move. âWeâre getting you out of here.â
Y/n flinched slightly at the sound of her voice but didnât pull away when she rested a hand lightly on his arm. Her touch was steadyâgrounding.
âItâs over,â she said, her voice low and sure, like an unbreakable promise. âNo more orders. No more missions.â
Y/n's lips parted, but no words came out. It was hard to believe it was real after everything. Freedom was a foreign concept, a dream too fragile to trust. But Natasha didnât rush him. She crouched there, keeping her voice steady and calm as the chaos raged behind her.
âI know itâs scary,â she admitted. âBut youâre not alone anymore. Iâm here, and so are the others.â
When he didnât resist, Natasha helped him to his feet. Y/n was shaky, each step slow, as if his body had forgotten what it was like to move without orders directing his every action. Natasha kept a careful hold on her armânot tight, just enough to remind him she was there.
Together, they made their way through the collapsing facility, the flickering lights casting erratic shadows on the walls. Outside, the Avengers had cleared the area, and a Quinjet waited, its ramp lowered. Steve Rogers gave a tight nod to Natasha as she guided Y/n aboard, but the others knew better than to approach.
Natashaâs expression warned them all: Give him space.
ââââââââ-
The Avengersâ compound was vast, bright, and openâeverything the cold, sterile facility had not been. But for Y/n, it was too much. Too big, too noisy, too unfamiliar.
Y/n rarely left the room they had set up for him, and when he did, it was always with Natasha at his side. The others tried to welcome him gentlyâBruce offered books, Steve always nodded with quiet reassurance, and even Tony kept his quips subdued. But it was Natasha who knew how to reach him, because she had been where he was.
She didnât push. When the others asked too many questions, Natasha would step in, redirecting the conversation with a subtle ease. She became Y/n's anchor, a quiet, constant presence that didnât demand anything from him.
At night, when the nightmares cameâand they always didâNatasha was there. The first time Y/n woke up gasping, covered in cold sweat, he thought she might be angry at being disturbed. But instead, she sat on the edge of his bed, her voice calm and low.
âBreathe,â she whispered. âItâs okay. Youâre safe.â
When Y/n couldnât sleep, she stayed up with him. Some nights, she talked about her own past, sharing bits and pieces she thought he might understand. Other nights, the two of them sat in silence, watching the night bleed into dawn.
She never asked him to talk about what happenedânot until Y/n was ready.
ââââââââ-
It was weeks before Y/n said more than a few words at a time. The trauma ran deep, and trust was a hard-earned currency. But Natasha noticed the small changes. The way he started sitting with the others in the common room, though he always kept a little distance. The way his gaze softened when Sam told a joke or when Clint teased him about beating him at chess.
One afternoon, while sitting with Natasha on the balcony, Y/n surprised himself by speaking.
âThey made us fight each other,â He said quietly, his voice brittle and uneven. âIf you won, you got food. If you lost⌠you didnât.â
Natasha didnât flinch. She just nodded, her gaze steady. âI know.â
âThey told us it made us stronger,â he added, bitterness creeping into his tone. âMade us perfect.â
Natashaâs lips pressed into a thin line. âThey were wrong.â
For a moment, Y/n looked out over the horizon, the sky painted in hues of gold and pink. He felt the weight of her words settle in his chestânot just the words, but the way she said them, with the conviction of someone who knew exactly what heâd been through.
âYouâre not what they made you,â Natasha said softly. âYouâre more than that.â
Y/n swallowed hard, emotions swelling in his throat, but for the first time in years, he didnât feel the need to shove them down. Natashaâs presence was a reminder that he didnât have to carry everything alone.
ââââââââ-
Day by day, the Avengers helped Y/n find pieces of himself that he thought had been lost forever. Steve taught him how to cookâsimple things, like pancakes and scrambled eggs. Sam dragged him into a movie marathon, making Y/n laugh for the first time in what felt like forever.
And Natasha? Natasha stayed by his side through all of it, giving him the space to heal at his own pace.
One evening, after a quiet dinner with the team, Y/n found yourself sitting beside Natasha on the couch, Clint sprawled out on the floor in front of them.
âSee?â Natasha said, nudging Y/n's shoulder lightly. âTheyâre not so bad.â
Y/n gave a small, tentative smile. It felt strange on his face, but not unwelcome.
âYeah,â he admitted, his voice soft but genuine. âTheyâre not.â
Natasha smiled tooâgentle, patient, and proud. And for the first time in a long time, Y/n felt like maybe, just maybe, he belonged.
ââââââââ-
The Avengers became a rhythmâsteady, sometimes chaotic, but reliable. Y/n was still learning how to navigate the whirl of personalities and noise, but Natasha was always a steady guide. She seemed to know exactly when to push and when to pull back, letting him stumble without ever letting him fall.
The nightmares didnât stop, but Y/n got better at managing them. On nights when the darkness crept too close, he didnât feel ashamed to knock softly on Natashaâs door. Sometimes, the two of them talked. Other times, Y/n sat quietly on the floor beside her bed until sleep returned. It didnât matterâNatasha was patient, always patient.
But adjusting to life with the Avengers was harder than it looked from the outside. Even though they gave him space, their camaraderie felt foreign. Trusting themâreally trusting themâwas an uphill battle, but Natasha reassured him that it was okay to take his time.
âYou donât have to be anyone other than yourself,â she had said. âTheyâll wait.â
ââââââââ-
It was Sam who cracked Y/n's defenses first, though it took him weeks of gentle persistence. He had a way of being both laid-back and direct, not giving him much room to overthink. One afternoon, Y/n found himself sitting across from him at the compoundâs kitchen island, awkwardly holding a controller as he taught Y/n how to play some old-school racing game.
âDonât worry,â Sam grinned. âIâll go easy on you.â
He didnât. Y/n lost every race, but he didnât mind. For once, losing didnât come with consequences. Samâs laugh was loud and infectious, and before Y/n realized it, he found himself chuckling along.
âSee?â Sam said, nudging his shoulder lightly. âYouâve got a sense of humor in there somewhere.â
It was a small moment, but it was the first time Y/nâd felt⌠normal.
ââââââââ-
Training sessions with Steve Rogers were a different kind of therapy. He never barked orders or pushed Y/n beyond his limits. Instead, he treated each session like a lesson in self-controlâteaching him to use his skills in ways that didnât make him feel like a weapon.
âStrength is more than just force,â Steve would say. âItâs about knowing when not to fight.â
At first, it was hard to fight the reflex to be perfect, to push through every ache and bruise just to meet some invisible standard. But Steve never expected perfection. If Y/n faltered, heâd just nod and say, âGood. Now letâs try that again.â
One day, after a sparring match, Y/n hesitated as Steve packed up the training mats. âThanks,â he muttered, the word feeling foreign but genuine.
Steve gave him that easy, reassuring smile of his. âAnytime.â
ââââââââ-
It was during one of Tonyâs infamous pizza nights that Y/n realized how far heâd come. The team gathered in the common room, laughing and teasing each other over slices of greasy pepperoni. Y/n sat between Natasha and Clint, feeling oddly at ease even though he hadnât said much all night.
At some point, Tony tried to rope him into a debate about who the best James Bond was. Y/n blinked, unsure if he was joking or not.
âCâmon, kid,â Tony said, grinning. âTell me youâve got an opinion on this. You have to.â
Before he could answer, Natasha smirked. âHeâs still deciding if he likes any of us, Stark. Donât scare him off with your movie rants.â
The team burst out laughing, and to Y/n's surprise, he found himself grinning too. Not because he had to, but because it felt right.
Natasha glanced at her brother from the corner of her eye, her expression soft and knowing. She didnât say anything, but her small smile told him she was proudâand she realized he was too.
Bonus chapter:
Not every day was easy. Some mornings, the weight of the past dragged Y/n down like lead in his chest. Y/n still flinched at unexpected noises. Some nights, the nightmares left him breathless and paralyzed. But with Natasha, it didnât feel like he had to face it alone.
One particularly bad night, Y/n couldnât keep it all bottled up anymore. It was lateâwell past midnightâwhen the panic took over. Y/n found himself in Natashaâs room, pacing back and forth as he tried to control his breathing.
âThey made us hurt each other,â he whispered, the words tumbling out faster than he could stop them. âEvery day, every mission. If you hesitated, they punished you. Theyââ
Y/n's voice cracked, and he clenched his fists, furious at himself for breaking down. But Natasha didnât look at Y/n with pity. She stepped closer, her hand resting lightly on his arm.
âThey wanted you to believe it was the only way,â Natasha said softly. âBut itâs not.â
The anger, the shame, the guiltâit all poured out in a rush, and Natasha let him feel every bit of it without judgment. When Y/n finally sank to the floor, exhausted and drained, she sat beside him.
âYouâre not what they made you,â she repeated gently. âAnd youâre not alone.â
ââââââââ-
Months passed, and slowly, Y/n found himself carving out a place among the Avengers. It wasnât perfectâhe still had hard days, and some wounds ran too deep to ever fully heal. But he was learning that it was okay to not be okay all the time.
Natasha stayed close, always ready to catch him if he stumbled. But she also gave him room to grow. Y/n started spending more time with the othersâtraining with Steve, playing video games with Sam, and even laughing at Tonyâs terrible jokes. They werenât just teammates anymore. They were friends.
And one day, as the team gathered for another chaotic dinner, Y/n realized something that hit him harder than any punch heâd ever taken: he wasnât just surviving. He was living.
The thought was strange, almost surreal, but when Natasha met his gaze across the table and gave him a subtle, knowing nod, Y/n knew it was real.
He was home.

Challenge Accepted
Clint Barton x Male reader
Summary: You and Clint had made a bet, whomever loses in a friendly game of archery buys the other dinner. However Clint highly underestimated you.
A/n: Trying to branch out and not do so many Loki and Bucky fics. Requests open.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/752ab3f84dd682cfa76281b3643c0b71/7be41012fa087d01-41/s540x810/df9083ef1fb2d1441b8e8f3a29ffc191a3791f80.jpg)
You and Clint had been friends for as long as you could remember, a bond forged in shared childhood adventures and a mutual understanding that went beyond words. Over time, the sibling-like affection evolved into something deeper, a quiet yearning that neither of you openly acknowledged.
Clint, ever the stoic archer, consistently downplayed his feelings, convincing himself that his admiration for you was purely platonic â the affection of a close friend, a confidante, a partner in crime. Yet, their playful rivalry, fueled by a desire to impress you, constantly pushed him towards deeper waters.
Their daily training sessions were a constant battleground, a playful exchange of banter and challenges. You, with a mischievous glint in your eye, would often declare your superiority, a claim Clint, despite his initial skepticism, found himself eager to dispute.
"Alright, how about a bet?" Clint leaned against the wall, arms crossed, a challenge gleaming in his eyes.
You raised an eyebrow, wiping sweat from your brow, "A bet? For once, just admit I'm better, Barton."
"Beat me in archery," Clint countered, "and I'll admit you're better. And the loser buys dinner."
"Challenge accepted," you grinned, patting his shoulder as you walked past. "Meet you at the range."
The archery range was their sanctuary, a place where the weight of the world seemed to melt away, replaced by the rhythmic thrum of their bows and the satisfying thunk of arrows finding their mark. Today, the air crackled with an unspoken tension, a playful rivalry laced with a deeper current of unspoken desires.
You, with a mischievous glint in your eye, drew back your bow, the arrow humming in your grip. "Ready, Barton?" you challenged, your voice a low purr.
Clint, his gaze fixed on the target, nodded, a slow smile curving his lips. "As I'll ever be."
The first few shots were a flurry of arrows, a dance of skill and chance. You, with your uncanny accuracy, consistently found the bullseye, a smug grin playing on your lips. Clint, initially dismissive, found himself struggling to keep pace, his usual effortless grace disrupted by the unfamiliar flutter in his chest.
Each miss, each near miss, fueled a growing frustration within him. He yearned to impress you, to prove himself worthy of your attention, but the pressure was mounting. He felt the heat of your gaze on him, a burning intensity that ignited a fire in his belly.
"Come on, Barton," you teased, your voice laced with playful mockery. "Surely the great Hawkeye can do better than that."
The barb stung, but it also spurred him on. He closed his eyes, focusing on his breath, on the rhythm of his heartbeat. When he opened them again, a newfound determination steeled his gaze.
The next few arrows were a testament to his skill. He found his rhythm, his shots finding their mark with increasing precision. The air crackled with anticipation, the silent competition escalating with every arrow.
You, watching him with a mixture of admiration and playful rivalry, couldn't help but be captivated by his focus, by the raw power and grace he displayed. Your heart quickened, a strange warmth spreading through you.
Finally, with a deep breath, you fired your last arrow. It soared through the air, a perfect arc, and pierced the bullseye dead center.
Clint, watching the arrow find its mark, felt a strange sense of defeat, but also a strange sense of exhilaration. He had pushed himself harder than he ever had before, driven by a desire to impress you that surprised even him.
"Well," he conceded, a slow smile gracing his lips, "looks like I owe you dinner."
You grinned, your eyes sparkling. "How about the pub we like?â
Later that evening, you and Clint settled into a quiet booth at the pub, the dim lighting casting a warm glow around them. You ordered beers, the silence comfortable, filled with the easy camaraderie of long-time friends.
"You know," you began, breaking the comfortable silence, "you could have just asked me out. I would have said yes."
Clint, caught off guard, choked on his beer, his cheeks flushing crimson. "I- I didn't think you'd... I didn't think you'd feel the same way."
You chuckled, "You're an idiot, Barton. But you're lucky I like you."
A comfortable silence settled between you, a shared understanding hanging heavy in the air. Clint raised his beer bottle. "To whatever the hell this is."
You clinked glasses with him, a smile gracing your lips. "To us."
As the evening deepened, you found yourselves drawn into a conversation that flowed effortlessly, a comfortable intimacy blossoming between you. You talked about everything and nothing, sharing stories, dreams, and fears.
Clint, emboldened by the shared laughter and the growing warmth in his chest, reached across the table, his hand brushing against yours. You met his gaze, a silent question hanging in the air.
He leaned closer, his breath warm against your skin. "Maybe," he whispered, his voice husky, "we could try something more than just friends."
You smiled, your heart pounding in your chest. "I think," you replied, your voice barely a whisper, "that would be a very good idea."
And as Clint leaned in to kiss you, you realized that this was just the beginning of your story, a love story years in the making, finally taking flight.

Double-Agent (Avengers X Reader) *PLATONIC
Characters: Avengers X Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Talking about torture and experimentation (HYDRA)
Request: Avengers x (22) reader. The reader is has been working for the team for 4½ years being able to use their teleportation, telekinesis, and healing powers to help. They capture Rumlow before he's able to damage in Sokovia and harm anybody. Later while being interrogated he request for the reader. Upon entering the room Rumlow reveals that the reader use to be with Hydra as their parents (mutants) were Hydra agents. He even reveals that the reader used to bring down bases and ruin shield. Later after that conversation the Avengers confront the reader. The reader tells the Avengers that when they saved them from that Hydra prison he was put there for betraying Hydra for Shield.
It was hard for you to focus on anything in moments like this. Knowing that there was a HYDRA agent nearby always made you hyper focus on everything they were doing, watching their every move, making sure they didnât do anything. You were usually good at hiding your anxiety, tucking yourself in the corner to be out of the way and rolling a rare coin Steve had given you a while ago between your fingers. However, your team knew you well enough to know what it meant when you did those things, and would try their best to handle the situation themselves and make sure the HYDRA agents never addressed or even looked at you.Â
You were thankful for their understanding. They tended to do the same thing for Bucky, though he preferred to not be in the room at all, but you did, just to be there just in case and watch like a hawk. The team never questioned your quirk, because they partially understood. You were a past experiment of HYDRA that they liberated a few years prior, and after some healing, you joined the team as a valuable asset. You could gather information with your telepathy and telekinesis, and could provide immediate on-site medical care if anyone got hurt due to your healing abilities. You were important to the team, and the team always found themselves thanking you for things you did for them, so letting you stand in the corner and monitor any HYDRA agents they captured and interrogated was the least they could do.Â
This was another one of those situations, but while you would often look away and listen to what was being said, trying to appear unbothered and simply there as backup for your team, this was different. Because they had Rumlow, and you were the one to capture him.Â
It was in no way intentional, more like you saw an opportunity and took it, and it was definitely a good decision- finding he had several powerful bombs on him that he could use at anytime. You stripped him off all weapons, and gave him over to your colleagues, only speaking when necessary. You stayed in the corner, playing with your coin, though whenever Steve glanced in your direction to check on you, he saw you glaring at the man, and the coin was actually floating in your palm, turning rapidly. He could tell you were stressed, and he had no doubt in his mind you had a history with Rumlow, though he didnât say anything.Â
Rumlow was handcuffed to the table in the small interrogation room, and for the most part he just glared straight ahead as Natasha questioned him, Steve behind her, and you in the corner. There was a pane of one sided glass where you knew the rest of the team was watching, Hill and Fury on their way to also monitor- this was a big deal after all. Everyone had thought Rumlow had died years ago, yet here he sat, badly burned from the collision with the helicarrier and the building, but breathing, which you personally found insulting.Â
âYou sure you donât want to tell us anything?â Steve asked, leaning on the table, trying to tempt the man to speak. He didnât say anything and first, but then his eyes moved, and they met yours. The coin stopped dead in the air as a chill ran down your spine, though you didnât break eye contact.Â
âNow that you mention it⌠Y/N-â He started. Natasha moved to stand in front of you, arms crossed, glaring at him. Steve turned and looked at you, motioning his head for you to leave the room. You didnât budge. You had to be here- control the situation.Â
âY/N. Out. Now.â Steve ordered, voice low and quiet, but demanding. You swallowed, grabbing the coin from the air, and leaving the room. You took a step to join the others, but you felt the bile rising in your throat, and instead you turned on your heel, going to find somewhere quiet, and the first place that came to mind was the bathroom.Â
The rest of the team remained focussed on the interrogation, their intention peaked since he started speaking. âHow well do you know Y/N? You sure you should just let them walk around?â He teased them, making eye contact with Romanoff, whose arms were still crossed and presented unphased.Â
âWeâre here to talk about your crimes, not for you to try and re-traumatise our friend.â Steve scolded, pasing across the room slowly.
âMy crimes? What about theirs?â He laughed. Silence fell on the room.Â
âWhat does he mean?â Bruce inquired in a whisper from the other side of the glass, glancing at his friends, who seemed just as confused. âWerenât they an experiment?âÂ
âYeah, they were, thatâs how we found them.â Clint confirmed, eyes focussed through the glass.Â
âElaborate.â Natasha demanded sternly.Â
âThey never told you?â He teased her with a grin. âTheyâre one of ours. Always was, always will be. Our ears from the inside. Our own Agent Garbo.â
âYouâre telling me Y/N is a double agent?â Steve asked. Rumlow only grinned, leaning back in his seat. Him and Natasha shared a look, before they made for the door. âSomeone get agents to watch him. Whereâs Y/N?âÂ
You sat on the floor of the stall, trying to calm yourself. You already had an idea on what Rumlow was cooking, knowing if they didnât let him mess with your head, heâd mess with theirs, pinning you against each other, and you didnât know what would be the best way to deal with it and resolve the manipulation. This could permanently poison your relationship with your only friends. Your only family.
You heard the door open to the bathroom, and you held your breath, knowing this was it. You tucked your legs closer to you, squeezing your calves, as several footsteps were heard on the tiles. âY/N?â You heard Tonyâs voice call, and you gulped. You hesitated for a moment, before reaching up, unlocking the stall door, letting the door fall open, and it wasnât long till the entrance to the stall was surrounded by your teammates staring down at you, their expressions ranged. Confused, sad, hurt, angry⌠âWe need you to come with us.âÂ
You didnât fight them, standing up, letting Clint grab your arm and escort you through the base, surrounded by the other Avengers, no one speaking, and you knew quickly they were leading you to a holding cell. As you got closer, you turned to Steve. âWhat did he tell you?â Steve didnât face you at first, but as Clint shoved you to keep moving, he did, but you didnât get a chance to read his expression before you were put into the cell, void of any windows or view of the outside, and you looked up at the camera in the corner, before taking a seat on the harsh bed.Â
It wasnât long till you heard the team arguing. It was mostly muffled beyond comprehension, but every so often someone, usually Tony, Thor, or Steve, would raise their voice loud enough to be heard. âBetrayedâ âDouble agentâ and âLiarâ Were words you heard frequently, as well as other mumbles, and you were able to gather an idea of what Rumlow had told them. That you were a double agent, a backstabber to the Avengers, the most successful plant and informant that HYDRA had, and for the last few years you had been playing them like fools. Your chest felt tight, trying to figure out what to do, getting up, pacing back and forth as you listened to them argue. You didnât know who hated you, wanted you dead, or who wanted to hear you out or straight up was on your side. You werenât sure if any of them were, and if it was just an argument of how to deal with you; a trial or an immediate execution? Was Natasha going to simply walk in and shoot you dead? If a trial is held, what court would hear it? What can you do to defend yourself? Itâs Rumlow against you.Â
The yelling stopped, and you immediately noticed. There were faint mumbles, but nothing concrete, and then your door opened, making you flint. In stepped Fury. âAgent.â He greeted stoically. You straightened up, head lowered, hands at your side. âWould you mind if we speak alone?âÂ
âSir I donât think-â You heard Vision start, before Fury turned to face out of the door, a glare enough to silence them, before he turned to you.Â
âOr would you like them here?âÂ
âJust us please.â You requested quietly. You didnât know why you didnât want them here, force to listen to your side with Fury keeping them under check, but as he entered the room, closing the door behind him, you realised why. You knew you were going to have to talk about what happened, and you didnât want them to know.Â
âRumlowâs spun a story depicting you as a double agent.â He commented.Â
âI heard.â You confirmed, remaining stiff, though you now looked up at him. He met your eyes, before glancing up at the camera, not moving his head, a silent comment. They were watching.Â
âWould you mind going over whatâs true and whatâs not?â He asked you. You nodded, trying to relax your shoulders, though your fists were clenched, along with your jaw. âAre you a double agent?âÂ
âI was previously.â You admitted.Â
âWhen was that?âÂ
âSeveral years ago.â You responded, keeping eye contact with Fury.Â
âCan you elaborate for me?âÂ
âI was a civilian at the time, but I kept up with what was happening with the Avengers and their enemy, HYDRA. I did my own research into them, and after a lot of digging, I found a way into their ranks. I took it.âÂ
âSo you worked for HYDRA?âÂ
âCorrect.âÂ
âWhy did you join them?â Fury asked, moving to lean on the wall, and cross his arms. He was calm, relaxed, his voice monotone and calm, though you understood- you two had had this exact conversation many years ago- when he questioned you after the team pulled you from that HYDRA base. It didnât make it any easier for you though, your hands shaking, reliving everything in that moment.Â
âSo I could give information to SHIELD.â You responded, your voice starting to shake.Â
âSo you were a double agent, a spy, but a spy for us?âÂ
âCorrect, sir.âÂ
âEven though we didnât hire or train you to do so? You went in without a back up or team behind you to swoop in, in the case you were found out?â He asked. You couldnât bring yourself to speak as you nodded. âWhat information did you provide us in that time?âÂ
âI leaked details on experiments and projects. The Forest Project, the Kingston Project- that was me. I supplied SHIELD with the names of cover groups they were using to hire people- the same way I found my way in, so they could be stopped to weaken their numbers⌠I helped roughly 70 prisoners escape⌠the number passes me, I didnât keep documentation so there was no trail.â You admitted.Â
â82, actually, I had Romanoff track them down and get a status update on them to make sure theyâre safe. They are. Several have families now. I didnât tell Romanoff who it was who freed them, just told her it was an anonymous agent.â Fury confirmed. You smiled to yourself at that, even though knowing Fury just on purpose let slip that he already knew all this information about you, that youâd already discussed this a long time ago. Still, he continued. âThen they found out what you were doing.âÂ
âThatâs right.âÂ
âWhat did they do to you, Y/N?â He asked. This was the hardest part. It always was, even back then. It took several hours for you to admit everything to Fury from that hospital bed, and while you were stronger now, more mentally healed, being able to tell your team bits and pieces over the years, dropping it all at your feet right now was just as hard as it was back then.Â
âThey turned me into their experiment. Iâd freed several of their guinea pigs, so all those tests that were prepped for them was used on me, all at once⌠it hurt. A lot. Sometimes Iâll still feel the needles, the incisions, the burning, the effects like when it was really happening, even years later. After they were done, those did their usual torture techniques- I later found out it was the exact same techniques they used on James to break him. Eventually, the effects of the experiments showed. Some were a failure, but some succeeded⌠its how I ended up like this.â You expressed, pulling the old coin Steve had given you long ago, letting it float in your fingers, before you placed the coin on the bed, and hugged yourself. âWith the healing factor⌠the torture became worse⌠knowing they could rip me apart and Iâd grow it back and be ready for the next round in just a few hours⌠there was no point to it. No end goal. They were just punishing me for what I did. For crossing them⌠I think they probably had goals of breaking me like James and making me another weapon, but that was several years down the line⌠several more years until I broke.âÂ
âBut that didnât happen. Because we raided the base and found you there.â Fury finished, and you nodded, only now feeling the salt in your mouth from your tears, sniffing and trying to rub away the tears, your whole body shaking. âAnd despite it all, you still wanted to do the right thing, and decided to become an official agent for us, and eventually an Avenger. The only person youâve told exactly what happened to you to being me, since it only matters that I know the full story, until now.â Fury moved from leaning against the wall, walking over and standing in front of you, resting a hand on your shoulder. âIâm sorry youâve had to relive that experience to prove your innocence and loyalty to your team. Hill is waiting outside, sheâll drive you home. You take as much time as you need to heal from this again. Iâll handle the team and make sure they donât cause more damage.â
âWhat about Rumlow?â You asked.Â
âIâll make sure he pays for what he did to both Barnes, and you, everyone else heâs harmed. He isnât seeing the light of day for the rest of his life, I promise. Youâve done good kid, now go rest.â He told you. The door opened, Hill stepping inside. You silently walked to her, head low as she guided you out, passed your silent team who stared at you, not even knowing what to say as Hill escorted you out. When you were out of the room, Fury stepped out the cell, looking pointedly at the team.Â
âYou knew this the entire time?â Natasha asked.Â
âThat I did. I know all your secrets, and it never should have happened that I had to expose Y/Nâs biggest secret, especially like that!â He snapped at them, making several flinch. âWhy would you believe Rumlow in a situation like this? In the middle of an interrogation? When he is known for being good at causing inner conflict in the team, pitting people against each other, and getting into peopleâs heads. The second he tried to put attention on an agent who you knew had a history with HYDRA- especially one which involves torture and trauma- you should have shut him up, not heard him out!â
âWe know. Weâre sorry.â Tony apologised.Â
âNot me you should be apologising to, Stark.â Fury reminded. Everyone at that point looked like a kicked puppy, heads low, uncomfortable, but mostly upset and disturbed at what theyâd heard. âDo not, and I repeat, do NOT, go and bother Y/N, they were talk to you when theyâre ready. They donât trust you right now, and I donât blame them. Iâm temporarily taking them off the Avengerâs initiative until they feel like they can work with you again. In the meantime, you lot better think of the best way to make up for all of this for when they decide to come back.âÂ
âIF, they come back.â Thor corrected.
âI would say if, but I know them. Like stated in there, they still want to do good and help SHIELD. Theyâll come back, it might not be back to the Avengers, but theyâll come back to SHIELD at least.â Fury told them. âNow stop moping around and deal with Rumlow- and donât believe a word he says unless you can fact-check!â He ordered. The team nodded, forcing themselves back into work mode, and trying to continue with their work, even if they were all haunted, though now they were a lot more angry at the smug man in the interrogation room.Â
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

The New Guy | Clint Barton x Male Reader | 18+
Fandom: MCU
Genre: Fluff, Implied Smut
Requested by Anon: clint barton x male reader: when clint meets y/n, tonyâs new secretary, heâs immediate in showing his interest in the younger male. Clint is bold with his flirting and touching, and it seems to work. The only problem is how protective tony and the other avengers are, since they know how clint is. Some time later, after a team meeting, y/n pulls clint into a closet, to show much he likes him
Paring: Clint Barton x Male ReaderÂ
Warnings: Allusions to sex, Sexual acts
Word Count: 888
Requests are open
!! MINORS DO NOT INTERACT !!
It seemed to be another average day of trying to keep up with Tony around the Avengerâs Tower. As his personal secretary, you often work on site with him, even having your own workspace in the tower just a little ways away from Tonyâs.Â
You had just finished a long work session and dropped off the paperwork that Tony had asked for earlier, so you rightfully deserved a break. You made your way to the kitchen area for a snack, and while reaching, you accidentally knocked over an adjacent item. Not reacting fast enough, you were prepared to reach down to retrieve it; however, the arm of an unknown person caught it for you.Â
Turning to see who had just helped you, you were faced with none other than Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye. âOh, um, you must be Hawkeye.â a startled laugh made its way through your sentence, still in a minor state of shock. âAnd you, sir, must be the new resident pretty boy.â Clint returned the fallen item to its place before leaning against the counter and looking at you with a small tilt of his head. âAnd please, call me Clint.â
You were somewhat taken aback by his comment, calling you pretty, but it didnât show much on your face. âSo tell me, whatâs a guy like you doinâ in a place like this, huh?â His question had an air of playfulness and was accompanied by a quick look up and down that you didnât miss. âWell, Iâm just here to help out Tony, yâknow.â Picking up on the subtle tension, you crossed your arms in front of your chest in a way that slightly flexed your biceps. âSo Iâve heard.â A small smile tugged at both of your lips, a subdued mischievous energy surging in the space between you two as you held eye contact. Your focus was broken by Tony clearing his throat. âThere he is, my favorite (favourite) assistant. Can I see you for a sec? Itâs important.â With that, you said your goodbyes to Clint, with his eyes following you as you walked off. âBarton.â Tony snapped Clint out of the daze you had him in before making the gesture to say that he was watching him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The so-called game of cat and mouse pressed on for weeks after meeting each other, and the intensity of Clintâs flirting only increased as time went by. It started out with cute nicknames and small innocent touches here and there, but eventually moved to gestures such as him squeezing your arm. It made you fall deeper and deeper each time, and it didnât help that he would always check you out every time you talked to each other.
The most recent time was what pushed you over the edge. You were in the kitchen yet again when a familiar pair of arms found their way around you from behind. âThereâs the pretty boy.â You playfully pushed his arms off of you before turning around with a smile. âHey, Clint.â A flustered laugh always decorated your response to his pet names. The conversation continued almost effortlessly, both of you hanging on to each otherâs every word. As your interaction flowed, Clintâs hand found its way onto your hip when he started, âHey, I was gonna ask-â âClint, meeting. Time to go.â He was interrupted by Natasha collecting him for a meeting they had talked about the other day. âYeah, coming.â Clint closed his eyes and dropped his head with a smile as he responded. âWeâll talk later.â He whispered with a wink before joining his friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While you were working in your office, what Clint said earlier nagged at your brain. You werenât naĂŻve, so you had an idea of what he wanted to say.Â
By the time the Avengersâ meeting ended, you finished your work session and went to find Clint, so you could continue your little exchange from before. You spotted each other as he was walking, to which you nodded your head toward your office.Â
He soon caught up behind you, and you grabbed him by the collar to pull him inside. âWoah, uhhh...â Clint was caught off guard by your apparent eagerness to continue your discussion. âSo about earlier.â Your hand left his shirt, but there was still a lack of distance between you two. âYeah, about that. I was just gonna say youâre a great guy... and uh... Iâd wanna-â His words fell to a whisper as his sentence went on, eventually cutting him off with a kiss as both of you slowly closed the distance between each other. A heated passion overtook the both of you as your arms found themselves around his neck and his around your waist. The craving for each other only grew as Clint licked your bottom lip and soon made its way into your mouth to dance with yours. An overflow of desire seemed to possess you, prompting you to kiss down his jawline and to his neck. âAhh... wait. What if... what if someone... comes in?â Breathy moans escaped between words as you attacked the sensitivity of his sweet spot. You leaned over to the door to lock it with raised eyebrows. âRelax, okay?â You gently pushed Clint against the wall so you could have your full attention on each other.Â
- End -

steve rogers x m!reader x clint barton oneshot
wc: 1.3k
request: black widow's newest mission is having to protect her younger brother from the amorous advances of her male comrades. there's varying levels of success, but she notices how her brother seems most susceptible to steve and clint's charm -Â randomnamenottaken on wattpad
warnings: male reader, reader can be read as cis or trans, reader is natasha's younger brother, reader has similar/the same training as natasha, flirting, [name] used, kind of fanboy!reader, slight steve x clint i couldn't help myself, its a bit implied that clint and steve are together, possibly ooc characters (i haven't rewatched the mcu in awhile, apologies)
note: also, sorry for the unplanned hiatus! my computer broke and i got a new one recently. i finally have some spare time so i decided to finish some requests!! i kinda rushed it/ended it suddenly because i felt bad about taking so long, sorry!
i'm a bit rusty in writing fanfic, any and all criticism is very appreciated
cut for length!
you hesitantly walked into the avenger's tower, sticking closely to your sister's side. you were anxious about what the avengers would think of you. what if they don't like you? what if they kick you out despite needing you on a mission? your mind was racing with thoughts, though you were quickly snapped out of it by natasha's voice. not even realizing you were already at the door of the room where the avengers were. your entire future in one room.
"hey," natasha snapped in front of your face and finally got your attention, sighing in relief when you seemed to come back down to earth. "finally," she sighed, "in that room are the avengers, and the avengers are gross men who flirt with anything that has a pulse. last time i checked, you have a pulse, so," natasha sighed again before regaining her composure, "just be careful, ok?"
you nodded curtly before nat opened the door. you tried to act confident but the second the avengers turned to look at you, you felt like a deer in headlights. tony stood up when you entered, walking up to your place beside natasha and smiling charmingly at you.
"hello, mr. romanoff," tony practically purred out, taking your hand in his and almost kissing your knuckles before a soft hit to the side of his head made him drop your hand. he looked to his side only to be met with the sight of natasha staring angrily at him.
"get your hands off him, tony," nat snapped, tony took the very obvious sign and dropped your hand as he stepped back. "everyone this is my brother, he is off limits. none of you are good enough for him," she said blankly. it's not that she didn't like any of the avengers, she just didn't think they were good enough for you.
"nat it's fine, i can take care of myself," you whisper-yelled at natasha. who would want the avengers, the people who have saved the world multiple times, to think you can't protect yourself?
"you hear that? he's fine with my flirting!" tony said happily, trying to take your hand in his again before you shot your hand away from his.
"just because i can stick up for myself doesn't mean i liked your flirting," you tried to sound as confident as you could but you were talking to the tony stark, how could you not be nervous? "i'm not interested in you," you finished and were surprised when the room erupted in laugher.
"jeez tony, not everyone is as obsessed with you as you are." you heard the joking voice of steve rogers, captain america, say. you froze in place at the realization that you were about to meet captain america and stood dumbfounded at the thought. sure enough, captain america stood in front of you with his arm out in front of him to shake your hand. you quickly shook his hand as you internally freaked out.
"sorry about my friend's advances, [name], right? or should i call you mr. romanoff?" steve's voice was soft and respectful, caring in a way. you stared in awe at the much taller man before realizing he asked you a question.
"you can call me [name]," you stuttered out, failing at hiding how nervous you really were at the moment. steve nodded and smiled, releasing your hand before speaking again.
"i'm steve rogers, though you probably already know who i am based on your reaction," steve let out a small chuckle after his lighthearted teasing, giving you a small smile and shaking your hand gently, you didn't seem like the kind to enjoy firm handshakes.
"i assume you also know my colleagues but it would be impolite to not introduce you," he moved to the side of you as he started pointed to the members in the room, "that's thor, he's a god so i'd be careful around him. that's bruce banner, the hulk, he can help you with anything science related. that's clint, hawkeye, he can seem distant but he's the best guy on the team when it comes to anything you need. you've already met tony so i won't bother with him," steve let out a chuckle after the last bit, seeming to have a friendly rivalry with the brunette.
"thank you," you stuttered out, steve rogers, the captain america was talking to you! it was a dream come true! you were led to an empty chair, in between clint and where steve was sitting a few minutes prior. steve attempted to take a seat, being shoved by nat so she could sit next to you.
"nice try, rogers," she said playfully before shifting her attention to tony and bruce as they started talking about the mission that would take place in about a week. it was hard to focus, noticing the "secret" glances from steve and clint, they'd look to you and then each other as if they were having a conversation of sorts.
after the meeting, clint and steve caught up to you and natasha as you walking around the tower. tony was nice enough to give you a temporary room in the tower as you stayed for the mission and if you were lucky enough, a permanent place to stay with the avengers.
"hey steve, hey clint!" you chirp happily, waving at the two boys. they briefly wave back before seeing natasha's glare, and suddenly her warning was at the front of their minds.
"we just wanted to welcome [name] to the team, even if its only for a few weeks," clint quickly covered up, in truth him and steve were coming so they could ask you on a date of sorts, you caught both of their attention, they both found you interesting in the way they wanted to get to know more about you.
"oh, thank you, i'm happy to be here!" you said, natasha didn't buy it, she had a gut feeling that they had different intentions.
"let's get going [name], we need to be well rested. you boys should probably sleep too," natasha rushed out. it's not that she didn't trust her friends, it's just that you were her baby brother and you'll always be a baby to her!
"you're right," you said before focusing back on the two men in front of you, "goodnight clint, goodnight steve! see you in the morning," you smiled before turning back to your sister and resuming the walk to your room.
once you got to your room nat wished you goodnight, giving you a hug before going to her own room. you thought back on the day as you showered and changed, you met the avengers and two of them went out of their way to talk to you! you were buzzing with happiness, it was hard to fall asleep after a day like that! eventually after an hour of so of laying in bed you fell asleep soundly.
the next morning you were in the kitchen looking for food when you heard footsteps approaching, they seemed relaxed and fluid so you weren't worried about being ambushed. just as you thought, clint and steve walked in, stopping their conversation when they saw you. you could hear the last half of it, something about a weird dream clint had. you waved before deciding on making cereal.
"oh, [name], we meant to ask you this yesterday, would you be interested in dinner with me and steve? thor and bruce might come but that's a big might," clint said as he was opening the fridge.
"sure, when? can you pass me the milk please?" you answered, following up with the simple favor as you had poured a small bowl of cereal as you listened.
"tonight, 07:00? if that works for you," clint passed the almost empty jug of milk, "sorry about that, i guess thor got here before us," he joked.
"07:00 works, thanks," you poured the cereal and grabbed a spoon before heading back to your room, acting cool as if you hadn't just been asked to join dinner with some of the avengers.

"Thanks for having us on your farm, Clint. I know you must have more than enough mouths to feed already." Y/N and Ikaris had been invited to Clint's farm for three weeks and it gave Y/N time to spend with his older brother, Pietro, who has begun something with the archer.
Clint smiles as he looks at him. "No problem, kid. I'm glad to have more people around here. Means I won't have to kill your annoying brother." Clint said as he stacked some hay bales.
"Remind me again why you fell for Pietro when all you do is argue and tease each other?"
"Because he's got a really nice butt. And he looks so good when he cumâ"
"âOkay, that's enough information." Y/N frowns as Clint chuckles. "Looks like Ikaris is getting into the spirit here on the farm." He pointed to the Eternal dressed in black boots and a cowboy hat with blue jeans.
"Wow... He's... He's..."
"Ride 'em cowboy, my brother." Pietro said as he suddenly appeared, giggling as he looked at Ikaris.

Hi! I was wondering if I could request a romantic Clint Barton x Fem!Reader where Clint gets called off on a mission exactly on Valentineâs Day and he comes home late at night all beaten up and covered in blood barely standing with a bouquet of flowers feeling guilty and the reader comforts him, cleans and patches up his wounds and takes care of him - basically something cute, intimate, fluffy for Valentineâs Day Ask Gameâ¤ď¸âđĽtysm
Oh my god. I just spent about 7 hours straight writing this. I really wanted to make it good and I think I got there. I loved it SO MUCH. This is truly one of the best requests I've gotten and you have made my day (probably week) You gave an amazing request, the theme and the way you put it had me loving ever second of writing so thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing.
I Don't Deserve You
Clint Barton x fem!reader
Summary: Your plans for Valentine's Day change, but you still couldn't be happier.
Warnings: injuries, swearing, angst, Clint not feeling good enough for the reader, hurt/comfort, fluff, reader and Clint tease each other a lot but it's purely out of love, no use of Y/n, could be read as gender neutral if you ignore 2 references to reader being female
Word Count: 2k

Affectionate
pairing: bucky barnes x male reader tags: bucky being treated like a normal being, male reader is very affectionate, kinda like tony, flirting like lil puppies
âBarnes, my sweet metal-armed dumpling, youâve got bedhead.â
You say it with a chuckle as you effortlessly drape an arm around Buckyâs broad shoulders, and for a moment, the entire room goes silent. Natashaâs trained eyes narrow from across the conference table, ready to spring into action. Tonyâs eyebrows shoot up behind his tinted glasses, and Steve actually tenses, fists tightening like heâs expecting Bucky to toss you across the room at any second. All around, the team braces themselves, anticipating a meltdownâa flashbackâanything resembling the Winter Soldier they still fear might be lingering inside the man you have so casually slung your arm over.
In the resulting quiet, Buckyâs expression flickers, and for a heartbeat, you wonder if the Avengers might be right. His jaw flexes, and his fingers curl slightly before unclenching.
Then he lets out a small huff of a laugh, the corners of his lips lifting, and you feel his posture relax against your side. âSeriously, youâre making a scene,â he murmurs, quieter than usual. But thereâs absolutely no bite behind his voice, no threatâjust the husky edge that always manages to send a pleasant shiver through you. âKnock it off,â he adds, though thereâs a ghost of a smile there.
Knock it off? Absolutely not. The man is gorgeousâdark hair still damp from a shower, the mechanical arm catching the overhead lights, his face etched with haunted lines that only make him look even more rugged and unfairly attractive. How can you possibly resist? Youâre only human (albeit an Avenger-human with a penchant for tackling alien invasions and Hydra remnants). But still, you have eyes.
You just grin, giving his shoulder a quick squeeze before loosening your hold. âAww, Barnes, you know youâd miss it if I did.â
Bucky grumbles something in reply, but thereâs a lightness there, an ease he didnât carry before. The rest of the team, however, remains on full alertâlike big cats itching to pounce. Steve in particular looks about two seconds away from physically peeling you off of Bucky. Even Clint, who was half-dozing in the corner, sits up, eyes keen.
âCap,â Clint warns softly, nodding toward where your hand is still lingering near Buckyâs nape, fingertips idly tracing the spot where flesh meets vibranium plating.
Steve clears his throat. âEverything okay there, Buck?â
Everyone seems to hold their breath again, and you can practically see the tension in the air. Poor Bruce is looking uncertain, Wanda is biting her lip, and Samâs eyebrows are drawn together in concern. Theyâre so worried that Buckyâs going to have an episode, or get triggered, or that heâs going to accidentally crush your bones with that metal fist if you keepâŚwell, doing what youâre doing.
And if this were two years ago, maybe theyâd be right. If this were weeks after his deprogramming, back when he couldnât even look into a mirror without disassociating, Bucky mightâve pushed you across the room with lethal force. Or at the very least, wrenched free of your hold, stiff and wary. But they donât see the subtle signs that you do: the tension in Buckyâs shoulders is not the tension of danger, but of mild embarrassment. He looks shy, maybe even flustered. Heâs definitely not displeased. And if anything, you know heâs grateful you treat him like a normal person, not a ticking time bomb with horrifying memories.
He shrugs off Steveâs concern with a tight-lipped smirk. âIâm fine,â he says. âIâm not made of glass.â
Or vibranium, you add silently with another playful grin. You resist the urge to poke at his arm, but your fingers twitch at the thought. Next time, you promise yourself.
Tony slides a diagnostic tablet across the table as if presenting evidence. âLook, Iâm all for affection, but maybe, for the sake of our dear ex-Hydra assassinâs comfort, we keep it PG-13 in the debrief?â Heâs half-joking, half-serious, eyebrows shooting up when you lean closer to Bucky again.
You tilt your head at Tony. âIâm not exactly straddling him on the table, Tony. Chill.â
âJust you watch,â Sam mutters under his breath, arms folded across his chest, likely recalling a previous incident in which your casual affection got a bitâŚhandsy. Hey, you canât help it, Buckyâs arms are a national treasure.
From beside you, Bucky sighs. âSeriously, guys, itâs okay. Thisââ he flicks his eyes at the point where your forearm slides across his back ââitâs nice.â He lowers his gaze, almost bashful, but admits quietly, âMakes me feel likeâŚyâknow. Like Iâmââ
âA normal dude, living a normal life,â you finish for him, your voice softer. Itâs what both of you want, though neither of you outright says so in crowded company.
âAlright,â Tony relents with a theatrical sigh. âI mean, if Barnes is okay with it, I guess we can let it go.â
âSeriously, Tony,â you huff, âIâm not some savage about to devour the man.â
Bucky sends you a cheeky side glance. âCouldâve fooled me,â he grumbles, but his lips twist into an amused smirk.
âWatch it, metal dumpling,â you shoot back fondly, the new (and very ridiculous) nickname making Tony gag in mock horror.
Thereâs a collective groan and roll of eyes from the team, but underneath that, thereâs this subtle wave of contentment. You can feel it in the airâeveryoneâs settling into this new normal. Sure, Bucky carries a lot of ghosts and trauma, but right now, with your arm around him, he just feels alive. Connected. Like the piece of him thatâs still James Barnes is being coaxed to the surface.
And you? Well, youâre just happy to be the one to coax it out of him. Bucky might be Hydraâs ex-assassin, but you canât help itâheâs also hot as hell, and youâre pretty sure your vision works just fine, thank you very much.
âAlright,â Steve says, clearing his throat again, a slight pink tinge on his cheeks from secondhand embarrassment. âSoâŚmission debrief?â
âMission debrief,â you echo. Without missing a beat, you re-sling your arm across Buckyâs shoulders, ignoring the universal eye-roll from the rest of the team. Bucky doesnât shove you away. He doesnât tense. He just gives your knee a quick pat under the table, and for a single, quiet second in that big conference room, you can swear you feel a little more at home.
And yeahâmaybe youâll have to tone it down for the sake of collective sanity. But then again, the look in Buckyâs eyes says he needs this just as much as you do.
So if anyoneâs got a problem with it, wellâŚthey can take it up with the ex-Winter Soldier himselfâand hope they can handle the glare heâll give them for standing in the way of his self-proclaimed âannoying but sweetâ Avenger.

Despite Everything (Loki X Twin!Brother!Reader) *PLATONIC
Characters: Loki X Twin!Brother!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Spoilers to Thor & beginning of Avengers, mention of death, and mourning.
Request:đđHey! I dont ask for requests very often so Im sorry if this is bad. But I was wondering if you could do a Loki request? Like where the reader is Loki's twin brother and him and Loki are super close (reader and Thor are close too but not like reader and Loki close), but when Loki fell into the void (in the first Thor movie) reader got real depressed and went out to find him only for Thor to find reader to tell him Loki is planning on attacking New York.Reader goes with Thor to stop Loki and meets all the Avengers. And instead of Loki him destroying New York he snaps out of Thanos's mind control and feels super remorseful. Maybe even incoorperate that they're Frost Giants somehow, too?
Your earliest memory was that of being with your twin brother. You were extremely young at the time, and being mischievous, had snuck away from your mother to explore, and gotten lost. Loki was more confident than you, or at least pretended to be, so he had took up holding your hand and pulling you through the vast hallways for a sign of anyone, while you got yourself worked up and cried quietly, though the entire time, he kept reassuring you. âDonât worry Y/N! Thereâs people everywhere, weâll find someone soon, or theyâll find us!â He was right in the end, hearing Odinâs booming voice calling for you, and you followed it till you were saw him, sprinting and running to him and hugging his legs, even as he scorned you for scaring your mother senseless. Thor teased you both relentlessly about the incident for over 100 years.Â
That dynamic has really not changed, even hundreds of years later. Loki came up with something mischievous, and with very little convincing you would join him on these shenanigans, things happened, and you would talk about it years later, sometime Thor laughing at it, sometimes you and Loki were the ones laughing.
It had been a while since that. A long while.Â
Everything fell apart when Thor, Loki, and some of your friends went off to Jotunheim without you, since you had been helping your mother with something, starting a second war with the Frost Giants and your elder brother banished to Earth. Due to all that, it took you a while to notice that Lokiâs behaviour was odd, even with all the tension, and he didnât tell you what was wrong when you asked the first time, and before you could ask again, your father had fell into Odin sleep, and after a short conversation with you and Loki and your adamance since he was the more confident out of your two, he became Acting King, with you and your mother helping him at the side.Â
It wasnât long after that, that Loki came to you late one night before bed, and admitted what happened at Jotunheim. About his skin turning blue, about confronting your father before his sleep, where he admitted that you and him werenât his actual children- you were frost giants, abandoned by your own kind, on the dirty, freezing floor, left to die, seperated by a few feet just so you two couldnât warm each other or find any comfort in each other. Odin had found you both, finding Loki first, before he heard your cries as well, that being how he decided which of you was older. He took you back to Asguard, and raised you with your mother.
It was an incredibly hard pill to swallow, and while you were still coming to terms with it all, the implications, how it affects the rest of your life, Loki was already feeling betrayal, abandoned and backstabbed by those around him and you, the fact that no one had told you two, and there was no plan to do so, and Loki had enough rage for you both.Â
Unfortunately for you, by the time you understood how far Loki was planning and willing to go, it was already too late. Thor was able to get back to Asgard, a battle broke out, the Bifrost destroyed, and Loki⌠Loki fell.Â
The days afterwards were hectic. You felt the eyes on you, expecting you to follow in your brotherâs steps, to lash out, to cause havoc. Expecting you to be a monster. Your felt their looks burning into your back, but you never turned to look them in the eye, or address it. You were too devastated to care.Â
Thor addressed it though.Â
The first time he confronted a group glaring and whispering as you simply tried to monuever from your room to see your mother was a shock for everyone, including you. Thor shamed them for it, pointing out you were in mourning, and so was he, over your brother, even if he did make mistakes. Thorâs voice easily carries in the hallways, so everyone in the radius heard, and the word spread quickly that he wasnât standing for you to be disrespected. After the dressing down he gave, he took your shoulder and led you to where you needed to go.Â
A few days later, no one dared stare, or whisper, especially with Thor always nearby like a guard dog. After weeks, Thorâs presence wasnât needed to ensure you were left be, but he still remained close, assuring you that despite everything, you are still his brother. Loki is still his brother, and you both are family to him. He got you to open up to him about what Loki shared with you, what you had felt after he had told you, and how you think Loki was feeling, helping you both grapple with why what happened. Thor had a period of blaming himself- that if he hadnât had been so reckless and pushed Loki to come with him to Jotunheim, or even go at all, none of this would have happened. You tried to convince him that he couldnât have known, and that he had grown as a person himself since then, thanks to his previous actions. He told you after a few days he had forgiven himself⌠but you knew Thor. You knew that was a lie, and that Thor was too stubborn to try and let you convince him otherwise on the subject. It was probably why he was really upping the protective older brother act. Guilt.Â
After months, you found a new norm. You were still a member of the family, assured by your brother, mother and father. Your brother had shown his love and loyalty to you with his actions since the early days. Your mother showed it through her being there for you, reminding you she loved you and calling you her son, and your father showed it by never saying a word about Thorâs adamance and scoldings of people in the kingdom, and even ignoring and interrupting people who tried to bring it up to him, making it clear in his own way that he agreed in Thorâs actions. Fandall, Volstagg, Sif and Hogun, quickly warmed back up to you, practically forcing you to partake in the groupâs antics. You still deeply missed Loki, wishing he was here, that things were different, feeling like a part of you was missing, but your friends and family made sure you barely had a moment to be caught up in those feelings. You were finally starting to heal, and learning to cope.Â
That was, until Thor came to see you one day. The Bifrost had been rebuilt, and he had been sent by Odin to check on things. You had expected him to be gone for a few days, so seeing him back so early was alarming. His face was solemn as well, and he quickly asked for you two to speak alone, which you agreed. As soon as you were, he didnât hesitate to tell you what was wrong.Â
âLokiâs alive.â The words were a slap in the face for you. You remained staring at your older brother in disbelief, waiting for him to tell you this was a sick joke, but then you remembered who you were speaking to. Thor wouldnât do that.Â
âThatâs⌠not possible. Loki canât be alive-how? You saw him die-âÂ
âI saw him fall.â He corrected you. âI presumed that meant death for him- we all did. But I was wrong. Heâs found his way to Midgard, and heâs got his hand on the Tesseract and heâs causing havoc there. Heâs killed over a hundred people so far, and Iâm now working with a group to try and stop him, and hopefully bring him home alive.â He explained to you.Â
âThen why are you here?â You asked him with urgency. âWhat do you need from here? Iâll get it for you- even if father will be angry about it.âÂ
âI need you.â Thor told you, making you stop. âI canât get through to him. Heâs still angry about what happened⌠but he opened up to you. Heâll listen to you. Youâre his twin, his brother by blood.â Thor explained to you. âI need you to come with me to Midgard, and try and talk him down.â He begged. For you, there was no question. No other option.Â
As soon as you arrived on Midgard, there was a group waiting for you, all of them eyeing you in a way that felt eerily familiar. They were looking at you like how your people used to look at you after⌠âThis is my brother, and Lokiâs twin, Y/N. He came to help, so I expect you to be nothing but kind to him, understood?â Thor ordered, making it clear he also noted their looks.
âSorry if weâre all a bit tense around his family, especially his actual biological family.â One of them commented- a man with a goatee.Â
âDo you know where he is?â You asked, choosing to ignore the comment.Â
âYeah, we managed to lock him in a cell for now.â Another man spoke up, that one in a purple shirt, seeming a little more shy.Â
âOkay. Take me to him.â You requested.
The way to the Helicarrier had been mostly awkward silence, sometimes interupted by some of the group trying to learn more about you- if you and Loki were actual twins are were just born around the same time and passed off as twins, if you were a Frost Giant as well, where you had been when Loki âturned evilâ, why you hadnât turned out the same, though by that point, Thor had finished that conversation immediately with a simple âEnoughâ, repeating it when someone tried to continue it. When you did arrive on board, you were introduced to another small group of people, Fury, Coulson, Hill- seemingly the ones running everything and who brought this team and Thor together. They asked their own questions- though in a more respectful and reserved tone, their glances to your brother over your shoulder telling you they were being careful not to set him off. After explaining what they hoped for from you- calm him down, get him to back down from his plan, and then have him go with you and Thor back to Asgard with no further incidents where heâd serve a small sentence, but after that, free to live his life- under continual supervision by your family to ensure something like this never happened again. If you couldnât do that, then it was still up for debate on how heâd be handled. As you saw it, Fury was clearly offering you a way to get your brother back with minimal issues, and you werenât going to risk it.Â
âOne of us at least is going in there with you- as a neutral party.â Stark spoke up.Â
âIâll do it.â Thor immediately spoke up.Â
âShouldnât it be a neutral party? Not a family reunion?â Barton commented.Â
âNeitherâs a good idea.â You spoke up.Â
âYouâre not going in there alone with him, we donât know you well enough.â Steve told you.
âBut I know him. Iâll watch over it all.â Thor argued.Â
âNo! Listen to me!â You snapped. âI know Loki, better than anyone. He keeps his walls entirely up around people. He only told me about our true heritage when he knew for sure we were alone. If anyone else is in that room, he wonât say anything. He wonât cooperate. If anything, itâll work him up. Heâll probably presume youâve brought me here against my will and are using me as a pawn to get him to cooperate, which will make him angier. If Thorâs in there, heâll presume Iâm taking sides and betraying him. Let me go in alone, and just⌠talk to him.â You begged.Â
âAlright. Fair enough. But weâll be monitoring from another room nearby, just in case anything happens.â Fury decided, seeming to take almost everyone by surprise, some opening their mouths to protest, before he shot them a look. âHill, escort him down to the cell.âÂ
Stepping into the room alone was anxiety inducing. As soon as you stepped in, it felt like the room was colder, the hairs on your arms standing up, and your heart began tor race. You glanced back as the door shut behind you, before you turned to look at the large spherical room you stood in, the cell made of glass on all sides in the middle, and inside, your twin brother, staring back at you in shock. âLoki!â You couldnât help the sigh of relief as you rushed closer to the glass, while he remained still in the centre, staring at you.
âY/N? How are you- what are you doing here?â He questioned in alarm.
âI came here for you.â You told him. âThor told me you were alive, and I came immediately. Loki Iâve missed you so much- Thor and Mother as well.â He scoffed at that.Â
âHe missed me? Thor is currently siding with the ones who locked me in here!â He responded, pointing to the door aggressively.Â
âHeâs also advocating for you. Heâs also advocated for me.â You told him with urgence.Â
âAdvocating? How has he stood for us?â He questioned.Â
âHe stood up for me after you left!â You snapped, making his expression soften. âEveryone looked at me different after you left. They spoke about me with me right in front of them. The looks they gave me made me want to curl up and die⌠But Thor didnât turn his back on me. He confronted those who did, he was right by my side, and he let me grieve in peace⌠Loki, he stepped up for me, because heâs our brother, and heâs advocating for you now, because heâs our brother. For him, nothing has changed. Weâre family, no matter whoâs blood we come from.â You explained.Â
âIs that the whole truth?â He questioned you, his voice a lot calmer, though also sadder, and you nodded.Â
âDespite everything, you will always have me and Thor, and mother and father. Despite everything, we still have a family, and we still have a home. Please, Loki⌠come home with me.âÂ
Loki frowned, looking down in shame. âItâs not that easy⌠The tesseract⌠It was given to me on an exception, an exception to follow his plan, and if I donât follow it⌠heâll reign hell on me, you, Thor⌠and everyone else. He has an army, we donât stand a chance.â He expressed to you.Â
âOkay⌠okay. Well, tell me everything you can about this being, and weâll figure it out, okay? Weâll tell father, and heâll help, and Iâm sure if we give them time to heal and show youâre a changed man and regretful about what happened, so will the Avengers, especially if this being intends to harm their home.â You pointed out, speaking loudly to ensure they heard you, remembering what Fury had stated.
âY/N⌠Why are you willing to take on my burden? I put myself in this situation.â Loki questioned.Â
âIf I recall currently, itâs always been your mischievous ideas getting both you in trouble, with me directly by your side. Why would this be any different? And If I remember correctly, Thor was always the one to see the fun in it all, make father be softer on us, and even take the fall for it. When this is all done, weâll look back and laugh, but for now, let us help you with this nonsense.â You begged. Loki stared at you, pure surprise in his eyes. He wasnât expecting to see his twin brother here today, he wasnât expecting to hear that Thor had remained loyal to you back home and caring for you despite his actions, and he wasnât expecting you to literally beg him to come home- a home you claimed was waiting for him. But the most shocking, was his own change. He never expected himself to change his mind, and switch sides so suddenly.Â
âAlright⌠Iâll tell you everything. Heâs called ThanosâŚâ
